Lyric Kinard is a fabulous textile artist. She makes art quilts, but she has a background in traditional quilting and has made art to wear. She teaches workshops across the country–she’s known for her classes in surface design and embellishing. I wanted to talk to her about her Joy of Service project, something she and her family do every year during the stressful and crazy holiday season. We couldn’t work it in then, of course–it was too busy. But having made it through the month of December, Lyric is hoping to continue spreading a little bit of joy and blogging about the experience. You can find out more about the Joy of Service here, and you can go here to read Lyric’s blog and here to see more of her work.
