What is on your workspace right now?

Tammy’s workspace

Drawing tablet and pencils. Getting ready to draw 🙂

Why do you make art?

I create pieces that help me deal with my emotions and chronicle personal events. I also enjoy creating work that makes others aware of the world around them (Awareness art for causes, etc.)

What’s your current favorite, can’t-live-without-it tool, supply, material, or junkyard find?

My Photoshop is a can’t live without tool. I use it nearly everyday.

What’s your favorite tool or material?

Paper is my favorite material while Photoshop is my fave tool.

What do you listen to when you create?

I listen to a mix of pop and rock songs. Right now I listen mostly to Maroon 5. Huge Adam Levine fan!

What’s the most inspiring trip you’ve ever taken or adventure you’ve ever had?

There have been many actually, but my fave was with my family on our road trip to anywhere. We didn’t plan much at all and wherever we ended up, we found something fun to do there. We ended up visiting museums in Gettysburg, unique shops, and even found the Delaware State Fair! We were all over in a matter of days.

Tammy and Tim DeKay

I have also been lucky enough to meet several celebrities such as Tim DeKay and Matt Bomer (White Collar), Zac Efron, Danny DeVito, One Direction and Big Time Rush. I report for Starry Constellation Magazine and get to do interviews and red carpet events. Cool gig 🙂

If you could surround yourself with only one color, what would it be?

Tammy’s favorite color

Blue. Love all shades but really into teal and aqua right now.

Do you have a talisman/power garment/magical thing you wear?

I have a necklace my boys gave me that has the Ghandi quote: ”Be the change you wish to see in the world.” I try to live that mantra everyday.

What’s your favorite place in all the world?

Though I often get wanderlust, home with my family is my favorite place in the world to be.

What one thing do you want to do that you haven’t done yet?

I want to expand in different fields and hopefully get products such as tee shirts, home goods, scrapbook supplies, etc. in a store.  Sigh…I can dream….

What’s the best day you’ve ever had?

The day I was married and the days my boys were born 🙂

What’s today’s Word to Live By?

Hmmm…I love visiting the White Collar (USA network show) set in New York. I also enjoy Chinese food.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

I would love to have telekinesis. I think it would help with cleaning the house.

When is your favorite time of day?

I love nighttime. I tend to wake up then.

What’s your best piece of advice for artists?

Never, Never, EVER give up. I often feel like giving up when things don’t go the way I want, but to give up what I love is not something I am willing to do. If you truly love it, then you won’t either.

Is there anything we forgot to ask that you’d like to share?

Thank you for this amazing opportunity! Good luck with the book [Crafty Birds], can’t wait to see it.
