Book Notes: Bent, Bound and Stitched
In this edition of Book Notes, Ricë reviews Bent, Bound and Stitched by Giuseppina “Josie” Cirincione. Josie thought after her first book, Collage Lost and Found that she had said all that she needed to, but after looking around her studio Josie realized that there was so much more to say. Watch Ricë review Josie’s second book in awe as she discovers so many new things to do with scrapbook paper, jewelry components and especially wire!
Thank your to Carol Panaro-Smith for supplying Josie’s photo.

Adhering Elements With Beeswax
Josie uses beeswax to attach elements of her collages to one another, but you’ll see her use beeswax in a variety of other intriguing manners, too. Beeswax can be used as a surfacing agent, a textural element, even an accent element. The sky’s the limit! She also offers tips and hints and about where to find appropriate supplies and how best to work with this old- is-new-again medium.
What Goes Where? CollageTechnique
Sure, it can seem a little overwhelming to start a collage, but Josie Cirincione, can show you the way. Her number one tip? Keep it simple. Start with just a few handpicked items that really mean something to you, and it will come all come together. After all, there’s no wrong way to collage, just lots of right ones.
Create an Old Book
