In April, she welcomes Sue Pelletier, author of the brand new book, Collage Paint Draw! In this hour-long web seminar, Mary Beth and Sue will talk about techniques and projects from the book, share artwork, talk about how to discover and use personal imagery in mixed-media collages and using unusual materials in your art. And as usual, they’ll then take audience questions.

Mary Beth Shaw is the author of Flavor for Mixed Media and Stencil Girl, a columnist for Somerset Studios magazine and the owner of StencilGirl Products. She has embraced mixed-media painting because she loves to play with art supplies. Mary Beth’s spontaneous process utilizes pastel, ink, marker and acrylics layered with various collage, texture and three-dimensional materials. Living in Wildwood, Missouri with her husband and three cats, Mary Beth is passionate about every moment of life. Sue Pelletier is an artist, mother and teacher, not always in that order. She has taught elementary school art in Dover, Massachusetts for twenty-five years. The spontaneity and expression in children’s art has always been an inspiration. Sue has a BA from Saint Michaels Collage in Vermont, where she majored in fine arts and elementary education and an MFA from the Pratt Institute in New York, where she majored in painting.

She has been published several times in Cloth Paper Scissors as well as in Somerset Studio and various other Stampington magazines. Sue’s artwork has been on four magazine covers. She also has two DVDs with Interweave featuring textural surfaces and innovative ways to use mediums in your art. Sue teaches online classes, and she teaches internationally with mixed-media events as well as smaller, more intimate venues in studios and shops around the country. She has been a guest columnist for CreateMixedMedia.com.
